Background
The use of low-frequency, non-contact, non-thermal ultrasound has been proposed as a treatment to improve wound healing.
Coverage Statement
The use of low frequency ultrasound for wound management is considered experimental and investigational, and, therefore, not covered because the effectiveness of this technology cannot be established by review of the available published peer-reviewed literature.
